CORTE MADERA, Marin County — October 31, 2026. Parking rules in Old Corte Madera Square have been under review following a town study and two September public workshops. The Town Council’s official archive lists Resolution 43/2026, amending parking time limits and restrictions in Old Corte Madera Square, after the October 6 meeting.
What was discussed?
The town’s workshop information described proposals to shorten the parking time in the Menke Park lot from four hours to two, create one-hour spaces near 305 Montecito Drive, mark gravel spaces along Montecito near the trail with a 72-hour limit and remove a four-hour restriction on a section of Corte Madera Avenue.
Important: Those details appeared in a proposed-change list before the council acted. The resolution archive establishes an official parking-rule decision, but drivers should read the adopted resolution and current street signs before assuming every proposal was enacted exactly as drafted.
Why residents and visitors care
The Square is used by nearby businesses, parkgoers, residents and customers. A time limit meant to improve turnover can also affect how long someone can leave a car while shopping, dining or visiting Menke Park. A town parking study does not make every roadside gravel patch a designated legal parking area.
Where to confirm a particular space
Consult the municipal resolution archive, the parking study and on-site signs. For clarifications on changes discussed at the workshops, Community Development Director Amy Lyle was listed as the contact at 415-500-5213. Do not rely solely on an older map or a third-party parking app.
